Setting up your flag
Step 1 - Choose the right flag pole base
Once you have decided on where you would like your flag(s), make sure you choose a suitable base. We have two options:
- Car base:
- Ground spike:
Alternatively, you can use cable ties and attach the pole to a secured upright post
Step 2 - Prepare the flag pole base
Car base:
- Assemble the base and secure with the screw
Ground spike:
- Place the ground spike point-down into the grass (plastic sleeve end up).
- Hit the top with your rubber mallet until the round disc touches the ground
- Keep it vertical! If you hit rock, stop and try another spot
Step 3 - Assemble your pole
Take all the pole sections out of the black bag.
Start with the section that has the silver end - that is the base which connects to the ground spike. Slot the remaining three sections together on top, from widest at the bottom to narrowest at the top.
For Vertical poles, you’re done!
For L-shaped poles, slot the horizontal arm to the top (narrowest) section
In windy weather, use the tape provided to secure the connection between the horizontal arm and vertical pole - wrap the tape a couple of times around
Step 4 - Attaching the flag
Open up the flag and find the sleeve opening (it’s the end next to the metal eyelet ring). Feed the narrow end of the pole through this sleeve opening until the pole reaches the end of the sleeve
If it’s an L-shaped pole, you might need to gently wiggle it around the corner
Step 5 - Clip on the metal weight
In strong winds, we recommend clipping the round metal weight onto the metal eyelet found next to the flag’s sleeve opening. This will help weigh down the flag
Step 5 - Complete
Slot the pole onto the ground spike and boom, you’re done
Here are two videos to demonstrate the process:
- 1st video = setting up the vertical pole (for the Ibiza flag)
- 2nd video = setting up the L-shaped pole (for all other flags)
